I’m Amanda, the crochet addict behind-the-scenes. I’ll be posting new products to my shop as well as yarn hauls and tutorials, so be on the lookout!
I was always interested in crafting and being creative. I tried my hand at a few different things, like drawing and scrapbooking, but nothing seemed to stick. One day I found some yarn and crochet hooks in the back of my mom’s linen closet and was immediately drawn to it. I didn’t know what you could do with it, but I wanted to find out. Growing up we had a crocheted baby blanket that my grandma had made for us kids. I always liked that blanket and often snuggled with it.
One day I was asked to attend a crochet club in my neighborhood. I felt like this was a chance to try out crocheting and see how I liked it. I decided to join and met like-minded people. At the beginning it was difficult for me to understand how to begin, the various stitches, and even holding the crochet hook correctly. My hands weren’t used to the unfamiliar movements needed in order to crochet, but I kept at it.
Before long, I was able to chain, crochet a few stitches, and eventually make a scarf. While it wasn’t perfect, I was happy that I had completed my first item. I was instantly drawn to crochet and thought it was incredible how you could make something out of yarn and a hook. I guess you can say I’ve been ‘hooked’ ever since.
I live with my boyfriend, Tony, our two adorable rabbits, Rocky and Pixie, and our cute cat, Lambeau. Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/amandacrochets22.
